ORCHESTRAL SUMMER 2026
Orchestral Summer 2026
Orquesta Escuela Zaragoza is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its Young Musicians Encounter in the rural setting of Magallón, aimed at artists aged 12 to 23.
The Encounter will follow the philosophy of El Sistema: it will be an inclusive orchestral gathering, with group music practice sessions and other complementary musical activities for young musicians with more advanced skills. There will be concerts and recreational activities to discover the rural charm of the beautiful location where we will hold the event.
During the ENCOUNTER we will enjoy...
-
Intensive musical sessions, with at least 4 hours of daily rehearsals by instrument, section, and orchestral tutti, led by award-winning and renowned conductors and educators with extensive experience working with young people.
-
Extra musical activities, for both advanced and less experienced participants.
-
Between 1 and 2 hours of guided recreational activities daily.
-
Free access to the municipal swimming pools, accompanied by instructors.
Concerts, open to all participants, will be a highlight of the event. More advanced artists will have the option of organizing small-format micro-concerts (soloists, duos, etc.) mentored by our team, with the option of an accompanying pianist. The Encounter will conclude with a grand concert open to the public.
There will be a maximum of 63 places available, with the option of accommodation for the 3 days of the event. Participants will have the option of full-board accommodation or taking the course without accommodation, with the option to include or exclude meals.
True to our philosophy, the Encounter will offer the option of applying for full or partial scholarships. The remaining scholarships will be limited, and priority will be given to artists from the Zaragoza Social and Solidarity School Orchestra and the Magallón Artistic and Musical Society, as well as to other entities linked to the Social Music Network of Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao, and Vigo, and to member entities of El Sistema Europe.
Rural areas offer an opportunity to imagine an alternative vision of culture, remembering that it is practices, including cultural ones, that allow us to transform our beliefs and attitudes.
